EIFS, sometimes called synthetic stucco, is a multi-layered wall system consisting of insulation board (polystyrene), base coat, reinforcing mesh and an acrylic finish coat. There are several system variations and most incorporate some type of water management and drainage for even better protection.

EIFS has superior energy efficiency, design flexibility, color range and is lightweight. Studies have shown EIFS can reduce air infiltration in a wall by as much as 55% when compared to standard brick or wood construction.
